one fish. two fish. tuna fish. sailfish :)

Good morning!  Last Friday, while we were in IOP, Dad took some of us offshore!  Before 7:30am Curt was already hooked up with a good sized Mahi.
The sun rising over the ocean!
Tay got hooked up shortly after with another Mahi.  Curt was coaching her through her big catch!

This was about the time that Gair woke up from his beauty sleep :)  Right when he walked out in the cockpit we had a bite on the left flat. . . Curt got hooked up and we saw it jumping. . .i immediately said it was a Sailfish, but no one believed me. . .until we saw her sail the next time she jumped :)  Curt's FIRST billfish!
We had a couple more Mahi that we tagged because they were pretty small. . . Big G and Gair both caught one that we tagged.
After a little bit of sitting. . .sitting. . .waiting. . .a little more sitting. . .and waiting some more. . .We had another bite on the left flat.  Sure enough it was another sail, and Russ was hooked up.  This was also Russ' FIRST billfish!
Russ' sail went a little crazy and got a little tangled in the squid chain!
The lucky reel that caught both of our sails today!
Curt caught a bonita and then Tay got hooked up with what we thought was the bottom of the ocean!  She was a trooper and we were all so excited because it was a Black Fin Tuna :)
Here are some other pics from the beautiful day we had offshore!
Our two sailfish flags flying!
And since it was both Russ and Curt's FIRST billfish. . . according to tradition, they were going to be thrown in the creek when we got back to the dock!
Looks like Curt knew what was coming. . . .
Let's try that pose one more time. . . in their now wet clothes after being pushed in!  Hopefully Russ is okay, Curt landed right on top of him. . . .
Tay and Curt with their Mahi and Black Fin's that they caught!
