state fair

Last Monday Gair and I went to the fair with his family!  In South Carolina, the State Fair means it is officially Fall.  I know it has technically been Fall for quite some time now, but since the weather doesn't usually change until around October here in good ole SC, I just think of it as the beginning of Fall (it makes the summer seem longer).

Anywho...Gair and I met his mom, dad, Caroline, and Elliot last Monday afternoon and Taylor and Curtis met up with us after Taylor got off work!

Right when we got there Elliot wanted to ride the carousel so "Bay Bay" (as she just started, this past weekend, referring to me as) took her on the carousel :)  Once the ride got going she did not stop smiling!  When it stopped she had the strongest grip on that pole and would not let go.  The only way I could get her off was to tell her that we were going to ride another ride!  This little one isn't scared of much!
After the carousel ride, we saw the bumble bee ride and she looked, pointed, and shook her head up and down (which in her language means she really wants that).  So I asked her if she wanted Uncle Gair to take her on the bumble bee ride and she reached out her arms SO BIG to Uncle Gair.
To make a long story short, Gair was able to SQUEEZE into this tiny little ride but Elliot was not a big fan of having to sit beside him...she wanted to sit on his lap the whole time.  So, Gair had to SQUEEZE back out of the bumble bee ride and we headed to find the next ride for the little one.

It was hard to find rides that she could ride because she was too little to ride :(  So we got some ice cream while we were looking for another ride.
Then we found the slides and Caroline took her down the slides.  I was so excited that I captured this picture because it is absolutely adorable (and I don't even think it's because I am biased).
Of course she wanted to go again, so I climbed up the stairs and took her down for her second go on the slide, but Gair had a failed attempt at getting a picture of us coming down the slide.  That's okay though :)

I love this picture!  Not only does she look precious, but this is showing off Gair's photography skills :)
After the slides, we walked through some of the exhibits.
After Taylor and Curtis got there we went and saw the animals.  My favorite of course is always the little chicks :)
Then we went and fed the goats!
And Gair bought Elliot a pony ride!  We weren't too sure if she would like it, but she LOVED it! It was so cute because she was trying to pet the pony the whole time!
side note: these pictures turned out horrible...I guess because of the red tent that was over the pony rides
After the pony rides "Tay Tay" took Elliot on the dragon roller coaster.  This was another one of those "look, point, nod head up and down" times.  She was so excited to go on the dragon roller coaster and even sat beside Taylor without a tear.
I will leave out how this ride ended up....Lets just say, it looked a lot more fun from standing in line!  Maybe next year she will give it another go :)

We ate lots and lots of french fries, had some ice cream, and had an amazing time at the South Carolina State Fair this year!

Can't wait 'til next year :)
