relaxing weekend

This past weekend Gair and I decided it would be great to get away to his family's mountain house.  The mountain house is in Saluda, NC right on the Green River.  It was a PERFECT weekend to go to the mountains.  The weather was absolutely beautiful!!  It was sunny and warm during the day and it cooled down at night, but it wasn't too cold.  We drove up on Friday and just hung around the house and cooked dinner.  Saturday afternoon we drove to Tryon, NC to hike up and see Pearson Falls.

What an AWESOME experience this was! These are just some of the pictures that I took while we were hiking up to see the waterfall.  There wasn't anyone up there with us at the same time, so I had to put my camera on a timer to get a picture with both of us in it :)  Before we went back to the house we drove to Hendersonville and ate lunch at a restaurant called Binion's.  It was really good!  After lunch, we stopped at the grocery store and picked up some stuff to grill out for dinner that night.  As much as I love going to the mountain house, the drive down the  mountain always makes me nervous.

Sunday we drove to downtown Asheville (it's only like a 30 minute drive once you get up the mountain).  I had never been before, so that was an experience.  It is a very eclectic city that is completely different from what I see everyday in Columbia.  We couldn't decide where we were going to eat lunch until I saw this place...

So obviously...we had to eat here!!  AND it was MEXICAN food :) My favorite!  So we walked around and did a little shopping around downtown Asheville and then headed back to the cabin for the night.  Since it is so hard to leave such a WONDERFUL place, we decided to stay Sunday night too and head back Monday morning!

We are so lucky to be able to visit such a beautiful place thank's to the Heady's :)
