girls weekend

I will apologize ahead of time for the rambling that will take place during this post!!  :)

Sooooo...the title of this post should explain a little of this weekend, but it doesn't really explain it at all!  My best friends from home and I decided we needed to plan a girls weekend :)  Well...if you don't already know, my parents moved to Isle of Palms a little over a year ago, so we figured this would be a perfect opportunity to 'take advantage' (not really mom...we wanted to see you too) of the fact that my parents live at the beach!  Over several emails, text messages, and phone conversations we figured out a weekend that we THOUGHT would work out for everyone.  Ali let us know that she had to do GOoD Works with her youth at church...but for everyone else (and my parents) this was the best weekend to get together.  So, Kerry, Tinsley, Georgia, and myself still planned on getting together even though we would miss Al.

As it got closer to the weekend (about a week before) Tin sent out a text making sure we were all still planning on getting together, of course I responded saying "OF COURSE," and Georgia did as well....but Kerry had a little conflict :(  she had to move out of her apartment and had to do it THAT weekend.  So, Tin, Georgia and I still decided we would still do our now MINI girls weekend!

Tuesday before, I invited Caroline (Gair's sister) and her precious daughter Elliot to come with me!  On FRIDAY, Georgia called me and said she was at the hospital because she was really sick :(  now I'm starting to think that God just did not have it in his plans for us to see each other this weekend...Georgia was diagnosed with some crazy sickness and definitely could not be around the little one, and I for sure didn't want to get sick!

Since this was now a MINI girls weekend we decided to meet up Saturday morning.  Caroline and Lil' E picked me up Saturday morning and we headed down to IOP.  When we got there mom and dad had heated up the pool so we went swimming for a little bit while we were waiting to hear from Tinsley.  She was downtown with friends from PC, and we just could NOT decide what we were going to do.  So, since Georgia was sick and Caroline wanted to go see a friend of hers from college, she dropped me off downtown to meet Tinsley and her boyfriend for an appetizer and some drinks!  Even though it was for a short period of time, I am so glad I got to see Tin and meet her boy :)

When Caroline and I got to the house we made the little one a bottle and Caroline went upstairs to put her down while I poured us a glass of wine and was looking for a movie for us to watch!  Next thing I know I hear, "Bradeeennn, can you come up here please!!!!"  I ran upstairs to find Caroline standing in the doorway holding Elliot with throw up ALL OVER her and the little one :(  I took Elliot and Caroline cleaned up E and herself then we went downstairs with her because we knew that she wasn't feeling well....needless to say, E got sick SEVERAL more times and it was the most pitiful thing I have ever seen.  Caroline and I both felt so helpless because there was nothing we could do to make her feel better and it was just so sad every time she got sick she would just cry because she didn't understand what was going on.  When my parents got home, my mom and I went to Bi-Lo to get some Pedialyte so Elliot wouldn't get dehydrated.  Poor thing was up way past her bed time and was so tired, but she just didn't feel good.  I kept telling my mom that Elliot has been a PERFECT baby and Caroline barely ever had to stay up all night with her even when she was an infant, so this was something that had never happened before!  Elliot just had a little 24 hour bug, and I wish I could have taken her place and me been sick instead!

Well....I guess I could have made this LOOOONNNNNGGGGG SSSSTTTTOOORRRYYYY shorter by just saying, our girls weekend didn't quite work out exactly as planned, but, I am SO happy I got to spend Saturday with Caroline and Elliot and that I got to see Tin and her boy!!!  :)  Just sad that the little one was so sick!!  But thankfully, Caroline says she is feeling much better now!!

Hopefully next time we plan a trip, it will be this eventful...AND everyone will COME :)
