I just got back from the most wonderful vacation I have ever been on! Thanks to our really awesome friends and their jobs we were able to go to Hawaii for a week :) Not only did we go to Hawaii for a week...it was my birthday!! I do have to say that I am one lucky girl. Here are some pictures from our trip!
On the plane, leaving LAX going to Kona! Longest flight ever, and we couldn't sleep because we were so excited and couldn't wait to get there.
The second full day we were there we went to Hapuna Beach. This beach is known for being one of the best beaches in the nation. While we were here they actually closed the beach because they found something that was believed to be bombshells from WWII. Not sure if that is really what it was, but it made the news in Kona. This was a really cool tree that was at the top of the hill as we were walking down to the beach.
On Tuesday we went to the beach at our resort. There is a lot of rock and coral reef under the water instead of sand. We were all walking out into the water and Gair stepped on a really sharp part of the reef and cut his toe really bad. I was playing doctor so I didn't get any pictures before we wrapped it up.
Wednesday....MY BIRTHDAY!! We went surfing! I actually got up a few times. "I rode some sweet waves!" haha! (Surfing pics to come soon...waiting on the photographer to email them to me) After we got back from surfing, we went back to the resort and got ready for the luau! We were all really excited, who else can say they went to a LUAU for their BIRTHDAY :) We had a delicious Hawaiian dinner and watched an incredible show. The BEST part of this whole night was that Gair surprised me and had the guy in charge add my birthday into the story and dances. The head guy and everyone at the luau sang "Happy Birthday" to me!
I even got pulled up on the stage during the last dance and had to hula in front of EVERYONE!
Ash and I got our picture with all the boys in the show!
These pictures were taken at our resort looking out over the beach!
